emmm, some people like call Lao-tse/Xun-tse philosopher, but i call them thinker. you cant use modern dialectical method judge them, 2-3000 yrs old thing.

cat, Xun-tse is my translate problem, could also translate as "world operate in it's own way, government cant interference"

"wu wei" appear on the late version of his book, and people start to believe it is added to Lao-tse's book by others.

Lao-tse, however, most chinese thinker in history have their own interpretation. Sun-tse who wrote art of war had quote Lao-tse's words. clearly Sun-tse not a peaceful "not-doing" believer. also Wang anshi who lead political revolution in Song dynasty, wrote books interpret Lao-tse.

like marx, his philosophy is objective and dialectic, but his design of communism give me different feeling. i used to call marx "square head german philosopher".

That is a contradiction . Xiun-Tse can only claim such if he is outside of the universe.
Lao-Tse mastered self-reference. He invented wu wei , not-doing.
Not-doing is not what officials do all their life. It is knowingful not-knowing.

in addition, xun-tse also a great thinker, as great as Lao-tse, but not very famous nowadays.

Qingyu I like that saying from Lao Tse...Can be applied to women too. Best way to gain is to give lol!!
