Many thanks. The one major currency I still have a question for you is the Euro. How do you think it would fare as a refuge currency in another deleveraging/markets crisis ? And how do you see its prospects as a recovery currency?
I ask partly as the Merk Hard Currency Fund has the major portion of its portfolio in the Euro - it sees the Eurozone as being less inflation-prone because of their more conservative approach to stimulus.
Ashraf - following your incisive BNN interview yesterday what currencies, apart from the USD, would you favour in the event of another deleveraging/markets crisis? Would a commodity-based currency like the NOK suffer in such an event?

Thanks so much for your prompt response re Yen as refuge currency in event of another deleveraging/markets crisis.
I'm operating a portfolio of Norwegian Krone. Hence my queries about its continuing viability, and how it might fare in such a crisis.
If you have the time your views would be hugely appreciated.
John
Many thanks,
John
