NEW YEAR WISH FOR FORUM.

I know from having been an owner of a squash club back in the 80's (fun biz) that all the very best players are Premadonnas in their behaviour. Come down off your pedestal Ashraf for a few hours and improve this forum.

1. Code of conduct and good practice for forum participants.

2. Full explanation of your role in making calls for the larger timeframe fundamentals and technicals you utilise. Due warnings for novices who might prefer to trade smaller timeframes within your larger tmeframe perspectives. i.e they do not trade with 200/300 pip SL risk.

3. Provide accomodation for particpants in the forum to be able to show their own charts, ideally without filling an entire page. A screen capture link would be ideal.

Have a very Happy New Year Ashraf. Your work is much appreciated.

@Forextrader, Thanks for the explanation, very helpful and I can see the cup and handle formation and tight RR on the trade. Not sure I would have spotted your #1 factor but good point ! I was ready for a ret on the daily chart sometime pretty soon so you caught it real nice. If you are playing this intra day rather than swopping the trade to daily T/F then I agree you have to judge your exit strat at best possible. Well done that man !

@Dave. Ignore
Finding Exit strategy is for more difficult that finding entry.
((Far far more difficult)), I usually move my stop loss higher is the price move higher, and I exited all my position the moment I see clear sign of reversal

@Dave. Ignore

The reasons I went long is
1-The GBP/YEN had 10 trading days of consecutive loss, I checked this currency pair performance in the last 10 years and I found the GBP/Yen had 9 days of consecutive loss only once in the last 10 years which is in August 2008 when leman was filling for bankruptcy . so I thought it is highly in unlikely ((probability)) to have 11 days in the row.
2- I looked at the 15 minute chart and I notice Cup formation ((bullish))., and there is a defined stop loss below trend line which was tested 3 times before .
3- And the most important factor is the stop loss is tight and the potential profit is large. i.e Risk to Reward

LOL Ignore, wish I could shed some agggge. Lets touch base in the NY. I will take a look at the audjpy. I don't play anything like your size in forex. 9 lots for me is pretty standard in the ES for example but I only started on currencies in Jan this year so still studying the correlations etc and finding my feet in the niche. Typically I play 3 units of total 3 lots in forex for the time being. It staggers me the size that some comparitive newbs here will risk !

Forextrader, I would move your second unit stop well above b/e now, n'est pas ?

Dave..:) I am hoping this message finds you before you sink too deepinto da celebratory sauce..
happy new year...
Frankly,without you in the forum I might not attend other than to listen to the 'bandofcomics' :)

Hopefully we can exchange a few good short and long term strategies..
i.e. I like to take along range position in aud/jpy for the carry,even 10-15 lots becomes quite substantial
on the interest over a few months..once a good long entry taken (pivot) that can be averaged down and held for north perhaps we are on brink of the carry..you should know good entry and bottom level..

I am back on Captiva Is.,Fl for the long weekend with some friends..

Happy New Year to Ashraf and all....

@Forextrader, nice entry you caught there for intra day play, good job. What was it that caught your eye for an entry at that level ? What t/f you played ? SL I can comprehend.
