Don't Forget the Yen

Much ado about USD rebounds during falling markets, but JPY strength still outperforms USD.

Ashraf - Apologies for my ignorance but what time frame do you imply by 'intermediate' and what do you mean by 'sprint'? And do you have any thoughts on USD recovery and duration?

Best,

John

Ashraf - do you see the JPY trending up or down in next 1-3 months given reports of Japanese authorities anxieties about the strength of their currency? Would it be advisable now to have a balance on USD (and gold/silver) as risk averse currencies in impending difficult times in 2010?

If you have the time to answer many thanks,

John

Hi Mr Ashraf,

Hope you will have a wonderful time in Singapore, (sad will not be able to catch you this round, I am away ).

Could I check, are you still updating your twitter, as I have it "frozen" since Dec 7th?

Thanks.

ayman, 124 eurjoy means very strong yen and we're unlikely to see the yen strengthen so early. But i do believe we could be positioned for these losses early next year.

sub, Dow closed above 10335 but S&P500did NOT close above 1120 and i said time and again that Dow was inflated relative to S&P500 so it was the S&P500 that needed to be watched carefully NOT the more volatile easily movable Dow.

AVG, risk aversion is here. i warned about it via my oil articles since Oct 22d.
