"Cygnus! good point...it explains a lot...

your nyc fun times hows trading"

Ignore, thanks for your message. To be honest, I haven't been trading at all for many weeks now. I have other work that has gotten really, really busy and is now consuming all my time. For me, I am just as well pleased as I made a barrel load of money trading in the early part of this year and I am exceeding content with my trading result on for 2010 (I am in awe and grateful for the result, actually). With too much time on my hands I would be weary about getting impatient and over trading. It is just as well for me that I not give money back to the market :). I still spending the time to go back and keep my charts (and counts - had to mention the counts for Subway90 as I know how much he likes EW) and other statistical analysis updated to maintain historical records to assess the ongoing effectiveness of my trading methodologies but I probably won't be looking to actively trade for at least another few weeks and maybe not until the new year.

Hope all is well with you and I wish everyone good luck and happy trading.

I love watching thunderstorms like the one looming across the skyline in Manhattan right now. Magnesium flares of lightning and simultaneous shockwaves of thunder.

"Fed have done incredibly well just talking about QE2. A timely reminder of the power of the Fed to all other parties."

My prediction is that in a year's time it will be apparent that the Fed does not have a clue as to what they are doing and that they never really had a clue. An impotence in the face of larger forces.

QE1 didn't work, and I don't think any QE2 will either.

"Smart money is massively short. VIX is stupid low. Do you feel lucky?"

Yes. I reduced the stop on my eur/usd short to 3920, locking in 100 pips profit.

You could be right, said. I'll stay with my short, however. If I get stopped at break even, no big deal. Trading models I have developed for actual entry, exit and risk management are to a large extent mechanical in practice and rooted in probabilities, the maximizing profit from good trades and the minimizing of loss from bad ones.

Also, I disagree that there is no systemic risk now. To the contrary, I believe there is huge systemic risk.

I am not trying to be critical of any fundamental analysis but it seems that sometimes certain "news" is emphasized by media pundits to explain market moves that already happened.
