Don't Forget the Yen

Much ado about USD rebounds during falling markets, but JPY strength still outperforms USD.

@Ashraf: Yes, it was just unfortunate that I was unavoidably away from screens* at and before the critical times today, and a bit shell-shocked by the USD/JPY fall, TBH. I did later go through all the tweets and saw your video analysis. I couldn't at first see the logic of the fall, but your video explained it well. Thank you.

(*and I'm too old to start monkeying with tweets to/from mobiles ... :-) ; Can't do it one-handed like the youngsters :) ).

Hi Pipped Off,

I'm not so negative overall on the USD even though I've been backing the Yen for some time. I think we may be in for one more sustained strengthening bout from JPY with USD playing second fiddle but still pretty strong. When the Yen has exhausted itself maybe USD will take over depending on global recovery news. Ashraf mentioned this alternating USD and JPY strength in an article a while back.

Hello All, USD/JPY chuntering along a tad too quickly for my taste - I'd prefer a steady drop so as to calm the interventionists in Japan - weeklies looking impressive with a small gap down. Any ideas on the likely effectiveness of a) jawboning by Japan b) unilateral intervention ...? And at what price levels? Will Japan get any meaningful support from the wider world or just (green) tea and sympathy?

Edric, maria,

No I did NOT forget about USDJPY. If you saw my Cantos Charts Video Analysis on USDJPY and Nikkei on the IMTs on Tuesday, you would have seen that i said support at 50 and 100 day MAs at 90.10 and 90.30.

*******It would be nice if more people took trouble to read all the material that produce (for free)out on my website (IMTs, articles, forum questions, twitter, Videos). It is frustrating when i spend hours on analysis and predictions about a pair or an asset, only for people to later ask me where is t going. All you have to do is read and scroll your mouse around the website.***********

perhaps i should start charging for access in order for people to read it
