@DaveO - Not sure if this BP-Rosneft JV is a good deal for BP. Past exp in Russia for all Oil majors has shown what thuggery and strong arm tactics the russian govt/companies use to remove their western partners.

Chinese President Hu Jintao rejected U.S. arguments that allowing the yuan to appreciate against the dollar would help the government in Beijing tame inflation.
The current international currency system, with the dollars primacy in as a reserve currency and in trade is the product of the past, Hu also told the newspapers.

Oh yes. Thus US can still count on China's stupid stubborness. The plunging SSEC tells that the markets have a clearer view.
If they don't appreciate they must hike and that will bring the anyway weak domestic markets down.
300 mln "wealthy " Chinese have 1 bln compatriots who have nothing. That is not an economy.
China will go belly up soon if not those great leaders arereplaced by some who can count up to three.

Here is an fun uTube, well mind boggling !

It immediatley brought to mind the fact that all economics graduates in the last decade or two actually need to go back to college to learn the meaning of the word "loan" :-) That was something I learnt at age 12 some 54 years ago. What a strange world we now reside !
