woohoo, hope we have no female traders in here, your comment should ferret em out:-)

UK comletely and utterly incapable of policing border controls for illegals, terrorists and even illicit students. Its not even party related, successive govnmts have failed dismally and we are now way beyond any hope of redemption. Self destruction or back to basics lies just around the corner.

Dave) correct on the boomers...retirees here, or some early forced retirement chaps in florida
take part time jobs...some for bucks some for sanity.....high quality peeps.....

then the ones you don't run into..the 'gated community execs' (that's me lol) who live large and demand da golf..making swfl the highest # golf courses per population in usa ....so many service niche jobs very worthwhile..then Hispanics, an amiable bunch, the cubans (hardest working big achievers) Haitians small%

many European resident homeowners' (part time) Many Germans (got da black money invested here)
Canadians, most polite)and then the black population (12-14%)..and assorted retired sports figures..

very few Brits in residence...

we are fixing to lose our country tho...

Back in the ole UK there is strong age discrimination although the oldies are to be found working in DIY centres where their general experience and helpful manner far outweighs the younger generations for that particular job.

And US jobs.

Skipper, when I visited FL back in 2002 one thing that struck me in the face was the large number of boomers working part time or full time service sector jobs. They tended to be the more amenable brand from a visitor perspective.
